Prix Serenata 1997

The Prix Serenata 1997 award was tributed in the Back to Serenades party. It is an unique award in Finnish musical history. Societa per la Rinacita dell'Arte della Serenata in Finlandia (Serenadilaulun Perinneseura ry.) dominate the award for an A'Cappela ensemble, which has tributed serenade singing in the world. There were four nominees for the 1997 award, of which ensemble Tupaduurit was clearly the best. We believe that our choise was loved by the audience, since when Tupaduurit entered to the stage, the applause could not be stopped. Societa per la Rinacita dell'Arte della Serenata in Finlandia summarizes the curriculum of Tupaduurit as follows: Tupaduurit has interpreted the serenades and charmed the audience with the constantly high quality performances during past decade. The distictive vocal timbre, the hear breaking interpretations and the golden arrangements of the vocal solidity of the serenades by Tupaduurit makes the choise easy for us. In addition to these subjects Tupaduurit has remarkably deepened the knowledge of the Finnish musical society with respect to the serenades and serenade history.
