The research group welcomes two postdocs, Dr. Bastián Reinoso, Dr. Toni Tuominen and one PhD student, M.Sc. Max Mattero, who all have joined the group to work on KETJU related research projects.

Dr. Bastián Reinoso joins us from the University of Heidelberg, where he has just finished his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Ralf Klessen. Bastián’s primary research interests include the formation and evolution of supermassive black hole seeds at very high redshifts.

Dr. Toni Tuominen joins us from IAS, Université Paris-Saclay, Orsay, where he has just completed a postdoc position in the group led by Dr. Nabila Aghanim. Toni’s primary research interests include large-scale cosmology and galaxy evolution and in Helsinki he will primarily work with comparing simulated KETJU outputs with observations using both electromagnetic and gravitational wave signals.

M.Sc. Max Mattero joins us from within the University of Helsinki, as he just previously finished his Master thesis in our group. Max’ PhD thesis work will involve simulating gas-rich galaxy mergers at high redshifts using the KETJU code.
