The coordinates of the venue are 69.05 N 20.8 E. The day we arrive the sun rises at 08:57 and sets 16:45. The day we leave the sun rises 08:30 and sets 17:11. Details here.
Recommended travel route to the venue: Fly to Helsinki, then fly to Kittilä as instructed below. From Kittilä there is a conference bus to the venue.
Recommended flight to Kittilä is Finnair AY581, leaving Helsinki to Kittilä 16.2.2025 at 12:25 p.m. (25 past noon), returning with Finnair AY576 from Kittilä 22.2.2025, departure 18:35. The duration of the flight is about 90 minutes.
The conference bus from Kittilä Airport to the conference center in Kilpisjärvi (273 km) on Feb 16 ( Eskelisen Lapin Linjat Oy) leaves after the arrival (around 14:15-14:30) of the flight AY 581, as soon as we all have boarded the bus. Similarily, there will be a bus to the departure flight from Kittilä on Feb 22. The bus fare is about 75 euros round trip. You pay to the bus driver. He takes cash and cards and will give a receipt.

EXCURSION: There are three excursions: "Border of Three Countries" (Thursday 13:00-16:00), "Snowshoe Adventure" (Thursday 14:30-17:00) and "Sami Culture and Reindeer Herding" (Thursday 16:00-18:00), see Kilpissafaris.fi for details of each. Participants should register on the www-site of the excursion on Monday February 17 at the latest. Choose the excursion, the date, the timeslot and the pick-up place, which you should choose to be Kilpisjärven Retkeilykeskus. Mention in the "additional information" section of the registration form that you are a participant in the Arctic Set theory Workshop (ref. Jouko Vaananen) at the Biological Research Station. All three excursions have enough registrations, so they will all happen. If you did not pay for the 5 EUR pick-up fee, have cash ready.
