Gunilla Holm is Professor of Education at the University of Helsinki since 2006. She worked previously as a professor of education at Western Michigan University in the USA for over 17 years. Her special area of interest is the influence of social inequalities on children’s education and achievement. Professor Holm’s research interests are focused on issues related to race, ethnicity, class, and gender as well as qualitative research methods, teacher education, youth culture and popular culture. Currently she teaches courses in multicultural education and qualitative research methods.
