My research interests are related to zooplankton and their adaptation to rapid human induced environmental changes, such as eutrophication and climate change. In my PhD thesis I was studying the effects of climate induced changes in temperature, pH and food quality on copepod reproduction. Since then, I have widened my scope also to cladocerans and rotifers. I am currently interested in the size and diversity of the zooplankton resting egg bank in the Baltic Sea, and the possibility to resurrect eggs that are produced during different periods of the Baltic eutrophication history.
