I'm working as the University Lecturer in Religious Education at the Department of Applied Sciences of Education, University of Helsinki, Finland (1.1.2007-).

I'm interested in holistic growth in Religious Education at schools. My dissertation study focused on the spirituality of the gifted pre-adolescents. At the moment my research interests are the development of perceptions of professional competence among RE teachers during their pedagogical studies. In addition, I'm interested in the nature of learning in RE.

I have been involved in TRES-project (Teaching Religion in a Multicultural European Society, EU, 2005-2008), Professor Kirsi Tirri's project "Actualising Finnish Giftedness" (2000-2007) and in Kati Niemelä's project "Life in the Finnish Confirmation School" (Church Research Institute, 2006-2009).

I'm a member in the EARLI International Program Committee (2007-2009) and in the JURE Steering group (2007-2009). I was the Chair of JURE conference on 27-28th of August 2007 in Budapest, Hungary. I am also a member of AERA, EARLI(JURE), ECHA and FERA.
