In Finland a 'forest surveyor' does survive by having at his disposal
models & yield tables for pine, spruce & birch only. The number
of commercial tree species is that low in Finland.
However, siberian larch (among others) has been planted in Finland
since late last century and has proven to be 'more than promising'.
These trees are 37 m high, standing volume is 500 m3/ha and they've been
planted in 1872 in Juupajoki.
