Workshop organizers
The workshop is supported by the Theoretical Biology of Adaptation Programme of the European Science Foundation*, with additional funding from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Turku, and from the Finnish Biodiversity Research Program (FIBRE). Local organizers are Mats Gyllenberg, Stefan Geritz, Kalle Parvinen, Eva Kisdi (Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Turku Turku), and Ilkka Hanski (Department of Ecology and Systematics, University of Helsinki).
*Countries supporting the Theoretical Biology of Adaptation Programme: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Time and place
The workshop is going to be held between April 15 (Thursday) and April 18 (Sunday), 1999, at the Tvärminne Zoological Station in Finland. This lovely facility of the University of Helsinki, situated on the southern coast of Finland next to a large archipelago, gives an opportunity to enjoy both quiet surroundings for intense scientific work and a beautiful natural environment for the breaks (for more information including exact location, see the home page of the Tvärminne Zoological Station).
