Current

Iiro Miettinen completed his masters project on hyperspectral imaging of pine trees. He is now working on his PhD and is the group's main drone pilot.
Dr Jon Atherton is an Academy of Finland Research Fellow (2022-2027). His research focuses on the use of proximal sensing technologies and platforms (e.g. imaging spectroscopy, SIF, 3D) to estimate plant properties and traits.

Dr Luis Alonso is a physicist with a long standing experience in remote sensing at different scales, from proximal to space-based, expliting the capabilities of hyperspectral data.
Dr Paulina Rajewicz recently defended her thesis in the Optics of Photosynthesis Lab and will work on CREDIBLE.
Jani Kuurasuo is currently working on his masters project. He is enrolled in the UH data science masters program and is putting his skills to good use on drone imagery collected by the group.
Mengqi Cao has recently completed her masters at the Institute for Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. She will join us for a 4 year PhD, starting in Autumn 2023.
Past
Vicent Ribas-Costa
I am a Spanish exchange student who performed his MSc Thesis at the Ecosystem Processes Research Group. My thesis topic focused on how to use a mass-produced drone to retrieve canopy traits using spherical photography. My plans include a remote sensing focused research stay at North Carolina State University in early 2022.
