I work as a university researcher in the Department of  Social Research and am affiliated with the Helsinki Institute of Science and Technology Studies (HIST).

My areas of interest include the sociology of science, the sociology of knowledge, public understanding of science,
bioethics, the regulation of biomedicine, as well as systems of classification and categorization.

Recently I have finished a three-year research project funded by the Academy of Finland looking at the constitution of population differences and variance through genetics.

I am currently working on a project exploring governance issues around the business-state-patient axis in biobanking.
