Also has participated in number of public discussions (in Europe, USA as well as in Africa), panels and debates as well as in several television, radio and newspaper interviews in Finland and elsewhere; presented numerous public lectures and speeches in different academic, business, educational, health care and political organizations, etc. in Finland, US and Tanzania.
Other current academic activities and responsibilities:
1. Head of the philosophy unit and the planning panel in charge of the philosophy program for the establishment of a department of philosophy at the university of Dar es Salaam.
2. Coordinator for international development ethics program between University of Dar es Salaam, University of Helsinki and University of South Florida; responsible for the organization of the 1st international Development Ethics Conference in Dar es Salaam, February 2000; member of the organization panel for the development ethics follow-up conferences in Tampa 2001 and in Helsinki 2002
3. Development Cooperation Consultations with a Finnish bilateral project on Civic Education RIPS in Mtwara and Lindi for cooperation project with Philosophy Unit on 'Civic Knowledge and Public Ethics' programme
4. Consultations and lectures at the Tanzania Prevention of Corruption Bureau training programme in civic ethics education
Oikeutta Ilman Kohtuutta (Justice without Moderation – critical study on the modern concept of justice) awarded in the competition for the best science book of 1995 by the Finnish Cultural Foundation and the Gaudeamus Publishing Ltd. October 1995.
