At the ESA Amsterdam Conference, a new Board was elected. The old chair, J.P.Roos, stepped down after five years, and a new chair, Bob Miller took over. Congratulations to Bob (and best wishes, it is hard work)!

The next ESA conference will be held in Helsinki, Aug 27-31, 2001. We are counting on having a full program there. Any ideas or suggestions stould be sent to Bob (r.miller@queens-belfast.ac.uk). Proposals for an inter-conference meeting are welcome! The ESA may possibly be able to give some financial help to those networks who are first to organize a meeting between the conferences.
